UPDATE 8/11/2024:
I'm a but late om my update but better late than never. I moved last Oct from my oldest son's home n Haltom City to live temporarily with my youngest son in Canton, Tx. Hip replacement and renal failure got my attention so I've been recuperating and am in process of looking for an apt to get back on my own again. For those of you who remember Sandra Hoskins, I live not far from her and we pal around occasionally. She has been very helpful to me.
UPDATE:
Well, my friends, there's been a few changes in my life. in the last few months. Back in 2015, I had weight loss surgery and it was discovered incidentally that I had renal cell carcinoma in my right kidney. Of course, having two kidneys, I agreed with the doctor that it needed to be removed and had another kidney I could live with. However, the left one has been a diseased one for all this time and has remained at stage III. But in August, my doctor called me with the alarming news that my left kidney was beginning to fail. Thus began a series of hospital stays (5 since August. I've been having blood transfusions due to an unexplained loss of blood. I've had 2 emergency dialysis ports put in and am currently on dialysis. Also, for some unclear reason, one morning after I got home from a hospital stay, I suddenly couldn't walk. I've been having to use a waler now for about 3 months. As much as I value my independence, my children have expressed their concern for my ability to take care of myself in the best way, I made the decision to move in with my oldest son, Brian, and daughter-in-law in Haltom City.

Another blessing came into our family in August. His name is Liam Carter Lane. My 10th great-grandchild is due in May/June and it will be a girl.

After graduation, I attended one year of college at what was then called ETSU in Commerce. I then got a job working for the government at the Dept of HUD as secretary to architects and engineers at the Federal Bldg. in Dallas.
